Christmas at Gran's and Grandpa Gary's

We had lots of fun this year in Conroe. Anne was able to see her grandparents, Uncle Mark, Aunt Ashley, and Beau, Grandma Regan, and Uncle John and Nancy. She revelled in all the attention and provided a lot of entertainment.

Anne's Preschool Christmas Party

Anne's preschool Christmas party was December 19th. It was fast and furious. The kids had cookies and juice boxes while the parents snapped pics. The party didn't last very long because most of the kids were tired and ready to go home. We exchange gifts with Anne's classmates and headed home for a nap.

New Camera

I can post again. We have been away for so long because I ran over the USB cord to our camera a while back with my office chair and haven't had a chance to get a new one, but this Christmas we bought a new camera complete with a new USB cord! YEA!

Pumpkin Carving

This was the first year that we carved a pumpkin as a family. Scott did most of the carving work. He created a wonderful silhouette of Mickey Mouse per Anne's request. Anne and I scraped out all the guts out and separated the seeds. We had lots of fun!

Bowling

We went bowling with our Target family on Wednesday. It was Anne's first time to bowl and I think she liked it.

Toddler Fair

Friday was Toddler Fair at Anne's preschool and it was so much fun! Gra'ma and I arrived at 11:30 to escort Anne to the fair (the teachers man the booths.) It was wonderful. All the children dressed up like farmers, which meant that I spent the week searching for overalls and boots. I found the overalls and sewed a bit of pizazz on them, but we had to settle for red Keds instead of boots. Albeit, I think she looked fabulous if I do say so myself. When we walked to the courtyard behind her classroom everything was set up for the fair. Each child was asked to bring a stuffed "farm" animal to be judged at the animal show. Anne's Chicky won first place! Well actually, all the animals received a blue ribbon, but we don't have to emphasize it! Anne's teacher, Ms. Teresa, manned the carmel apple booth. Gra'ma and I took Anne on a few wagon rides around the "farm" and we visited the chickens in the chicken coup. Anne gave each one a kiss and would have taken a few home if we hadn't stop her. The big hit was the duck pond! There were to red ponds filled with water and yellow ducks. Each child had a fishing net to scoop as many ducks as they could. After watching we discovered that there were to kinds of kids. The ones who used their nets to scoop as many ducks as they could and those who used their nets to splash all the other kids. It was lots of fun to watch! Their is one picture Konner and Anne at the duck pond. She talks about him all the time, sometimes he is the first thing she talks about in the morning! After all our fun we sat down on our blanket for a delicious meal of mini corn dogs, chips, and cookies. It was a great day!

Another Aggie Game

Here are a few pics from the Army Game.

The East Texas State Fair

Every year we go to the East Texas State Fair. Scott, Anne, and I went with Papa and Gra'ma this year. I have been going every year since I was Anne's age and this year was Anne's third visit, but her first time to get to ride the rides. I put an extra tall bow in her hair so she could make the height requirement. She rode the cars twice and the Choo Choo Train with Gra'ma. Another highlight this year was the petting zoo. It had goats, pigs, a deer, kangeroo, and more. I think I enjoyed it as much as Anne did. We can't wait until next year!

The Aggie Game

We had a great time at the Aggie game this weekend even though the Aggies ran out of time in their battle with miami. We drove down Saturday morning and spent the afternoon tail gating with our friends. Anne had a wonderful time playing with the girls and we all enjoyed the great weather! The game was a bit dossappointing, but that didn't stop Anne from having a ball. She pooped out from all the activity in the third quater and took a nap on Scott's lap. It was a fun weekend and we'll be back there in a week :)

Sit N' Spin and Preschool

Gra'ma got Anne a new distraction for work. She took a few minutes to master it, but now she is off and spinning. Anne comes to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays now that she has begun her scholastic career :) I miss having her company, but I have to admit that I am a bit more productive when Anne is at preschool. She has really enjoyed her new class and friends. I occasionally receive a few hints about what she does during the morning, but majority of what she does is wrapped in mystery. When I get a bit of info it's usually about who "disobeyed" or who got a boo boo. Today is Pet Parade at preschool, we are leaving Lilly at home. The requirements, being comfortable with large groups petting kids, excluded Lilly. Maybe she will make it next year.

Now that Scott is working days again we can enjoy family meals together. We have chocolate pudding almost every night for dessert and it always turns into quite a performance by Scott and Anne.

First Day of Preschool

Yesterday was Anne's first day of preschool. We went into Papa's for an hour and then took off for preschool. She attends Kids Kaleidoscope three days a week from 9:30 until 12:50. As far as I can tell her first day went great. She did not experience any separation anxiety and had time to eat her entire lunch, that was one of my concerns. The only negative was she came home a bit over stimulated. I was expecting to pick up a sleepy child who would be ready for a two hour nap. Instead I got a child who told me she didn't want to take a nap and talked non stop all the way home. Albeit, we did take a nap and Anne is looking forward to her next day at preschool.

Anne and the Ocean

The Ocean's Gunna Get You . . . .

"The ocean's gunna get you," was Anne's favorite saying at the beach this year. She loved to play in the sand and collect sea shells, but it took her almost the entire week to warm up to the ocean. The last day when the water was clear and placid she ventured in with the rest of the family and began to like the salty sea water. Anne had a wonderful time playing with cousin Sofia. They swam, bathed, and laughed together all week. She played for hours with her Aunt Katie (thank you Aunt Katie) and enjoyed spending time with Uncle Chad, too. It was a very relaxing week. Thank you Papa, Gra'ma, abd Great Granny for all the help!

Big Sister

I'm sorry for not posting for such a long time, but I have been sick for what feels like the entire summer. There will be an addition to are family coming February 10th and that means Anne will be a big sister. We are so excited, especially now that I am no longer sick!

Yellowstone

The day after Anne's birthday party (I'll post those pics soon) we all headed off for Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. We flew into Jackson Hole and drove the rest of the way to the park arriving at 11:00 that night. Exhausted, we crashed into bed and began sleeping right away. Papa woke up at 5:45am the next morning while the rest of us remain comatose. He was so excited he didn't want to miss anything and he didn't. On his walk that morning he came face to face with a grizzly bear! The bear didn't seem to interested in him he said so he made it back to the cabin safely, thank goodness. It would have been awful to lose Papa on the first day! We had so much fun seeing all the beautiful scenery and animals. There were plenty of "bussalo," elk, and chipmunks running around, but the most exciting were the black bears and wolves we spotted. Anne's favorite were the "bussalos." Papa and Scott went white water rafting in Montana while Gra'ma, Anne, and I went hiking and played by the river. It was a whirlwind trip. We had so much fun and can't wait to go back for a visit!

We visited Napa and Sanoma, Golden Gate Park, and went to a Greek festival. It was all so fun and Grammy and Grandpa made are stay wonderful.

Yee Haa!

We went to Pine Cove for their annual Mother's Day Conference this past weekend and Anne rode her first real "horesy." Her dad was a bit nervous for her, but she took to it like a duck in water. She even yelled "yee haa", but we didn't get that on the video. You'll just have to take our word for it.

Anne Reads & Gives a Shout Out to Her Friends!

Anne loves her books and has memorized a few lines from her favorites. Lately, she has been asking me to sit her in the glider so she can read to her baby dolls. Here's a little clip from her latest reading.

Ok, ok, she's not really reading, but what a fine demonstration of her verbal skills!

Aggie Video

The Maroon and White Game

Last weekend we all went down for the Maroon and White Game in College Station and the Aggies won! Anne had a ball watching the football game, talking to everyone around, and marching to the Aggie Band. Gra'ma has been working hard with Anne teaching her all about the Aggies and Anne has been soaking it in, like a sponge! When we get in the car Anne's first request is to hear the Aggies.
