Independence Day 2014

We celebrated Independence Day by participating in our neighborhood parade and then enjoyed a block party with friends.

Anne and Abby decorated their bikes all by themselves this year.
After parade refreshments with the DuToit boys.

The local volunteer fire department brought their fire truck for the kids to explore.

Anne enjoyed a game of human target practice at the block party.

We ended the day with fireworks!

Cousins

We went to visit Uncle Mark, Aunt Ashley, Landon, and Kelsey. We ate at a really fun restraunt, Babes, and that is where all these pics were taken.

Kelsey is always smiling! She is such a happy girl!

Texas Day 2014

We enjoyed another Texas Day at KK. Abby did a great job singing and dancing. Gra'ma, Abby, and I enjoyed a picnic lunch. Abby's favorite activity was washing handkerchiefs in a metal tub with a scrub board.

She loved the horse and was excited that she got to ride just the one she wanted.

Living Museum 2014

Anne's class hosted a living museum in their classroom. Each child chose a famous American, memorized facts, and dressed up to resemble their historical character. Parents were invited to visit the museum, press the button on the desk, and listen to the child. Below are a few pics:

Anne chose Helen Keller. She had a note on her desk that read "caution, I'm blind" just in case.

Can you name this famous American?
Still not sure? Here's the answer: Benjamin Franklin

Easter 2014

We had wonderful Easter. After church we had lunch with the family including Great Granny, Chuck, and Sandie.
These pics are from our neighborhood egg hunt. We participated in a combined six egg hunts. I think that's a record 😉

Abby's preschool class pre-hunt.

My two year old Sunday school class. I couldn't resist posting a pic of them. They are so funny!

Fresh 1k

Abby ran her first race. She had a rocky start after being bulldozed at the starting gate by an older girl, but with daddy's help she finished the race.

There were lots of fun activities for kids.

Snow Day

We had a freak ice storm last Sunday. The girls enjoyed playing in the precipitation and days off school. The chickens refused to come out of their coop for three days. We had Papa and Gra'ma along with the DuToits over for dinner, s'mores, and bananagrams.

The British are Coming!

Abby followed in Anne's foot steps today. She to dressed as Paul Revere for Famous American Day at preschool. It helped that we already had the costume.
Below is the link to Abby warning the Colonist "the British are coming!"

Tye Dye

Aunt Ashley and Uncle Mark gave the girls a tye dye kit for Christmas and it was awesome. The girls were able to do a lot on their own and the shirts turned out great. They both wore them to school the next week.

The finished product!
