Our Spelling Queen Bee

Anne qualified as an alternate on her school's 2nd grade spelling bee team early in the fall.

I'll have to admit we didn't practice very much since Anne was an alternate. Two kids had to drop out before she could actually compete in the County Bee. January 23rd came around, two days before the Bee, Anne announced at dinner that two kids had dropped out and she would be competing. I kind of panicked, but I had no need to worry. She did great, placing fourth overall.
She did not get those spelling genes from me!

Christmas 2013 Part I

We had a wonderful Christmas!
The season was packed full of fun and even relaxation. We enjoyed babysitting lots of our friends toddlers so their parents could shop or run errands.
Anne transformed into the Incredible Babysitter.

Lilly was very helpful too.
There were lots of crafts and caroling.

Rocket ship building isn't exactly a traditional Christmas activity, but it was this year.
Anne built one for the a little girl we would babysit later that night.
Glitter played a prominent role in the construction process.
