Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Clay Hightower

Rehearsal dinner
Scott was actually here he just didn't make it into any pictures.

Checking out the church. Let the fun begin!

Bridesmaid luncheon.
Bread Pudding and chocolate sauce!

Check out my BIG hair. Rachel helped me settle it down when we got back to the hotel.

Burger King, we needed some sustenance to hold us over until the reception.

Putting my shoes on

Rachel puts the guarder on!

The Patio at the La Fonda Hotel.

The other bridesmaid were wonderful, sweet girls. Beth knows how to choose her friends!

On the way to the church!

Rachel and I waiting in the wings for the director to call us to walk down the aisle. I probably would have broken down and cried buckets the entire wedding, but thankfully my shoes distracted me. I spent most of the time trying not to faint or fall in them.

When the wedding was over this Mariachi Band led us from the church to the reception. It was lots of fun and one of my favorite parts. Tourist took pictures of Beth, Clay, and the bridal party as we danced our way to the reception.

While the photographer was taking pictures we enjoyed ourselves at the guacamole bar. Yummy!

Beth made sure Anne had her own special plate of food at the reception. Anne and Abby were the only children at the wedding and we felt very honored.

Anne was a dance machine. After her smiley face french fries she busted a move for one and a half hours. After all that dancing I felt compelled to let Anne take dance lessons. When I asked her if she would like to go to dance class she said, "Mom, I already know how to dance."

I know from the lack of pictures you would think Scott didn't make it to the wedding, but he did. He and my parents aloud me to spend time with my sweet friends by watching the girls. I had so much fun and am thankful for the gift they gave me!

New Mexico

Here are our pictures from our trip to see the family and Baby Emily. I'll do a separate post about the wedding.

Anne and Sofia helping Emily open her presents.

Comforting Abby at the duck pond.

Looking for fish

Daddy and Abby share a snack.

Abby opted for ketchup on her chips instead of salsa.

Princess Tiana gets ready to slide.

Abby in pre-melt down mode. She did not want to leave the playground. Right before this a HUGE gust of wind came along and filled our clothes, hair, noses with dirt and wood chips. I had never experienced anything quite like it.

Scott reading a book to the girls while the moms shop.

Karen meets baby Emily.

Hanging out on the couch watching a show. Please ignore Anne's pacifier in this picture. I mean who would give a almost four year old a pacifier.

Papa and Abby check up on Counterscapes.

The Family.

Cousins

Chubby

Abby absolutely loved Emily. She was gentle with her and loved giving her hugs. We were all surprised to see this side of our wild little girl.

Gra'ma and her girls!

Anne and Emily

See you later!

The Bluebird Festival

Last weekend we went to meet Great Granny and Donna at the Bluebird Festival in Wills Point, Texas. Granny lived in Wills Point until she was sixteen and then her family moved the Daingerfield.

We kept our eyes peeled, but never saw a single living bluebird.

Anne had a absolute ball. Things started off a bit slow until she saw the train and hopped on for a ride. After the train we wandered up and down the rows of booths admiring all the crafts and baked goods. We searched and searched for cotton candy, but we couldn't find it. Anne was willing to accept a snow cone instead of the cotton candy.

We were serenaded by Elvis and gobbled up homemade gordidos. The Gordidos were made by hand and could be filled with anything from beans to cactus. It was YUMMEE!

After lunch we grabbed our seats for the "Snake Man" show.

We were in the front row when I remember that I'm scared of snakes. I HATE SNAKES! By the time it dawned on me the Snake Man pulled out the first reptile and I came close to a heart attack! I tried to put a brave face on for Anne, but I failed. Anne was pretty enthusiastic and has requested the Snake Man come to her birthday party.

Soon it was time to go. When we got home Anne told Scott all about the festival and told him he could come to the Bluebird Festival next year. I'll leave you with a parting shot.

Smores

We have been taking advantage of our fire pit lately. A couple of Friday's ago we had our sweet friends, the Garreds, over to enjoy a little smore action. I got the fire going, Krystal and I manned the smore supplies, and the guys set up the horseshoes.

Abby relaxing after eating an entire chocolate bar. What kind of mother would let her 15 month old eat an entire bar of chocolate? Somebody should pull her aside and have a little talk with her.

Expert smore making in action.

MORE CHOCOLATE PLEASE!
