"The nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string." - Anne of Avonlea

Match Maker
We had dinner with the Garreds Friday. The kids love playing together and Abby is especially partial to little Eli. They are exactly, and I mean exactly, two months apart. They were born in the same delivery room and had the same delivery nurse. When we went to visit Krystal and Eli at the hospital Krystal and I had were wearing the same t-shirt. Yeah, weird I know.

Betrinarian
We took Lilly to the vet last week for a check-up and it inspired Anne. She wants to become a "Betrinarian" (veterinarian, all v sounds are replaced with the b sound in Anne language and some sounds she leaves out all together) when she grows up. Anne tried to practice her new skills on Lilly, but she would have none of it. So her stuffed animals fell victim to many doses of medicine and lots and lots of shots. If needles make you queasy you might want to avoid the next picture.

The Easter Bunny Came Early
The Easter Bunny came a bit early to our home. Gran and Grandpa came for a visit last weekend and brought a few Easter eggs along with them. Gran hid them in the Great Room Friday night so Anne and Abby could go hunting Saturday morning. We would have hid them outside, but the weather was yuck!
Anne had a ball looking and hiding the eggs. Abby got into the action as well. She found a few on her own and Anne was willing to donate a few from her hoard to baby sister.
After egg hunting we went to lunch at Newk's and then to Discovery Science Place. Anne showed Gran and Grandpa all the exhibits and Abby demonstrated a few as well. It was a wonderful weekend.
I hope you noticed the giant half moon of drool on Abby's pj's. It's her favorite accessory.

G. Grandma Turns 12 . . . . again!
Last week Great Grandma and Uncle Clark came to Tyler to celebrate GG's birthday! We ate dinner at Oliveta, yummmeee, and then went back tour house for cake and presents. The girls love GG. A week doesn't go by that Anne doesn't ask to go fishing at GG's.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time with GG. Every summer Chad, my cousins, sometimes Joe (Chad's childhood friend), and I would spend a week living it up at GG's. We fished, made forts, worked in the garden, beautified the surrounding area, played Putt Putt, went to the movies, and generally went wild. Now that I have kids of my own I am impressed with Grandma's willingness to keep us so long. I might even question her sanity :) All that to say

When I Grow Up . . .
I want to be a mechanic.
Here's some shots of Abby helping Mr. Daniel put brake pads on our van. She got a greasy face and fingers, but baby wipes took care of the mess. Abby adores Mr. Daniel. Every morning when he comes into work Abby insist on being held and carried her around the office. I think he's a little partial to her as well.Mr. Daniel isn't actually a mechanic, but he can do just about anything. It only took he and Abby fifteen minutes to put the new brake pads on the front wheels. We no longer squeak and the wheels haven't fallen off yet. Thanks Mr. Daniel!

Dance, Dance, Dance
Check out Abby and Anne's dance moves. When we asked Anne who taught her how to dance she enthusiastically said, "Papa!"

Life
Here's a glimpse of our day to day life. I know it looks so exciting and you can't imagine how we could pack so much action into one day, but we do. Scott and I our both thankful for our sweet girls, new home, and church family. We thrive in our regular daily routine, but I am learning to be flexible when things don't go the way I planned. We're just trying to soak up all the memories.

The Tent
Great Granny gave Anne this tent and she LOVES IT! Abby enjoys it, too. It was very easy to put together. Anne loves to lure Abby, the Fire Breathing Dragon, into the tent and zip all the doors shut trapping her inside. Needless to say Abby does not enjoy this game as much as Anne. Every morning Anne runs into the play room and has a little tent time before breakfast. I don't think that I will ever be able to take it down. Yea for the playroom!
