Pine Cove Family Camp 2013: Tuesday

Tuesday began early.
We pulled on our jeans, laid clothes out for the girls,
gave Mousekarade a few last minute instructions,
(a counselor comes and gets the kids ready and takes them to breakfast on trail ride morning)
and headed down to the horse barn for
Breakfast Trail Ride.
Yummy!
After a leisurely trek we took a hay ride up to breakfast.
I didn't take any picks of the food because I was to busy eating it.

After breakfast the kids went with their counselors for morning activites.
Anne and her counselor Rapture Practice (Rapsy)

Anne's cabin went on the zip line and had a pool party.

Abby was a "Bear" in Cove Kids and they rode horses.
Each age group in cove kids has a different name:
Infants-Butterflies,  2-3 yrs-Bunnies, 4yrs-Bears

After a fun family afternoon the parents had a date night with a picnic dinner and then met up with everyone at the lake for a

The Girls!

Pine Cove Family Camp 2013: Monday

After our ice cream sundaes Sunday night we headed to our cabins to get a good nights sleep.
Monday morning we woke up, got the girls dressed in there super cute t-shirts Alicia had made for the kids, and headed out to swing.
There's a great big swing by the Summit (the dining hall) and the girls love it.
Last year it was Anne's favorite camp activity.

 The girls!

All the sweet kiddos!
They could all be from the same family.
After breakfast the kids headed of with their cabins to do various activities.
The parents went to speaker sessions with Ben Stuart.
Ben speaks at Breakaway in College Station, Texas.
He was super!
Next, we met up with the kids, ate lunch and played the annual Men vs. Women baby block stacking challenge.
Women won!

We skipped naps!
I know if you know me that's CRAZY, but we didn't want to miss any fun.
Anne announced that she wanted to do the zip line.
Last year she was to frightened to zip and well, jump off the diving board, ride horses, sit in the boat, ride the water rocket ect.
So before camp she made a list of the things she was going to do this summer.
Zip was at the top of the list.
She loved it!
The little girls getting ready to zip.

That's Abby dangling down from the rope.
She went too.
No fear.

The big girls are ready to zip
and
GIIIIRLLwe look fabulous!
I was frightened.
They kept assuring me that several elephants could go down the zip line at once, but I looked around and I didn't see any elephants around to test this theory out.
Eventually, I zipped.
Let's just say it took some coaxing.

After zipping, swimming, and snacks it was time to get dressed for

Bluffalo Bill's Family Reunion

(Rodeo Night)

Anne crashed before we could make it out the door.

Abby crashed soon after and slept through dinner.

Well everyone woke up for the rodeo.

After rodeo was family worship
aka CLUB
I missed out on this because I got a major headache and spent the rest of the night in the cabin.
I'm pretty sure this ailment was directly related to nap skipping.
The day was awesome and we are just getting started!

Pine Cove Bluffs 2013: Sunday

We headed to Pine Cove Bluffs for our second summer of family camp.
It was awesome!
The best week of my adult life!
We went with our dear friends Dave and Alicia and their children Chaz (4) & Noelle (4mo)
(In a little aside, Dave was Scott's college roommate and Alicia was my college roommate.)
The most unexpected part were the sweet friends we made at Camp.
Alicia had invited Ariana and Dan and their kids, Alexa (6) and Noah (2).
They are wonderful. We became all became fast friends.

Here we go!

When you arrive at camp the family hops out of the car, heads to the pool, the counselors take the car to your cabin, and UNLOAD ALL YOUR STUFF!
They even emptied the van's trash bag.

This is our sweet friends "Slugs."
Here real name is Samantha, but at camp all the counselors have camp names.
So fun!

Abby and Chaz hanging out at the swing before dinner.

The meals are one of my faaaaaavorite parts about camp.
As the mom you get to sit down and relax because the counselors take care of everything.
I mean everything: cutting meat, filling glasses, getting extras, and special request.

Anne and Ariana visiting with their cabin mates and counselor.

Family Club
Worship and prayer

There was an ice cream bar on the deck after club.
Anne was thrilled.

The kids enjoying their ice cream.
That's all for Sunday!
